The Distillery Woodfire Restaurant is a unique eatery established on the very grounds of the former Minchinbury Winery heritage estate (and Penfolds) in Minchinbury dating back to 1805. In 2013 this once abandoned site began transforming into a breathtaking restaurant maintaining much of the rustic charm of the precinct. Original fixtures were left untouched, including beams, stairs and the large beehive well which once supplied water to the Distillery on display at the entrance. Today, the Distillery presents as a spectacular museum showcasing the forgotten culinary history of Western Sydney, only 45 minutes from the CBD and approx 10 minutes from Parramatta. Together with head chef, Cherag Baria, diners can experience the fresh contemporary menu, for lunch or dinner, while enjoying a delightful historical journey. The menu features a delicious modern take on traditional recipes. A range of herbs, vegetables and edible flowers are grown onsite guaranteeing freshness.
